Sunstar is server management interface mainly used to control User account registration / Cache control / Web proxy log analyzing, Bandwidth limit and Quota stats. It is based on powerful linux server applications such as Squid for Web cache and Web acceleration, Apache for servicing web pages and MySQL as data backend. You can control user access controls via predefined web site patterns and or block specific users from accessing the Internet using Mac address or Username. It also includes an Ajax enabled live log monitor which allows you see what web sites your users are currently using.

To simplify the analysis over access logs, Sunstar includes the log analyzer modules in which you can query specific access logs you're looking for, by Username, website URL patterns, access date, file size and so on.

Sunstar is also able to apply bandwidth limit using the squid delay pools and Quota limit by checking and controlling the access logs. You can define quotas by Size per Time frame patterns like 1gb/week.

It also includes a two phase registration process, in which users fill in the application form for new account and admin should create or deny the requested accounts. So it is best to use in your work place, universities, dormitories and high schools to have full-control over Internet access.
